The Bowling Queen

This past weekend Grandma Kemp came to visit. We also headed to Akron for cousin Isabella's 4th birthday party...a bowling party! Claudia thoroughly enjoyed it, mostly because she wasn't aware how it was *supposed* to be played so she wasn't let down when her ball took 4 hours to make it down the lane. Claudia also received yet another balloon which suffered a quick demise. For those who don't know, Claudia is unable to maintain balloons. Whenever she gets them, they fly away into the sky, disappear through car sunroofs, and immediately pop on rough ceilings. At least we caught a shot of the latest balloon while the good times lasted.

We also took Grandma to the Children's Museum to play.

Bowling is exhausting to watch:

See the ball over her shoulder? She threw it about 10 minutes before this pic was taken. :)

A kick back kind of weekend

A very laidback weekend here at the Scott house. I finished the girls Christmas shopping and Amelia spent her first time sitting in a shopping cart instead of hanging out in her baby carrier. My baby is growing up. After I finished up their Christmas shopping I asked Claudia what she wanted Santa to bring her this year. She answered, 'A bike!' Sorry kid. Santa isn't so cruel as to bring a kid in Pennsylvania a bike for Christmas. I guess a bike is in order for her birthday. A kid getting a bike at the end of February is slightly less cruel. She was so cute last night, though. She looked up at the stars while she was brushing her teeth and said, 'I wish, I wish, I wish Santa would bring me a bike.'
We also spent the weekend making a scarecrow, which she affectionately named 'Papa'. I don't know the resemblance though. Maybe the lack of lips? We also had movie night Saturday night. We watched it in 'Nana's bed' and she made it through the entire thing without losing interest 15 minutes in and spending the rest of the time jumping off the bed. Success!
Look who can drink from her sippy all by herself!

Hallelujah!

Big day in the Scott house. Finally at 6 months 3 weeks, Amelia has finally decided that sitting is for her. Claudia was sitting on her own at 5 months so every day that passed after Amelia turned 5 months, we swore something was wrong with her and she'd never, ever sit. She's taught me that all I need to do is majorly complain about what she's not doing and then she'll do it. She's also started lifting her arms when you go to pick her up. AND she's started clapping. It ends up looking more like praying, but praying's good, too.

Amelia's also turned into a big ham for the camera. I'm sure since it's used so often, she's learned what's expected of her.

Now that Amelia can to anywhere she wants to go via rolling, Claudia gets very peeved with her. Claudia was coloring this morning and Amelia made her way over to her and, GASP, touched her coloring book. She also acts like Amelia has cooties when she touches her. It's funny because she loves her so, so much. I'll find them in the cutest little situations when they don't know I'm watching, but it's funny to see Claudia get so annoyed with her at the same time. Now that Amelia's on the move and we're oohing and aahing over the new things she does, Claudia definitely tries to stand her position as sister #1 in the house.

Who doesn't love being covered in nice, warm laundry.

Poor Amelia's such a good sport letting her big sis feed her dinner.

'Are you really going to let her do it again?'

Said coloring book situation.

Claudia's not too happy. This proceeds Amelia chomping on a crayon. Fun times!

This sitting stuff rocks! Why didn't I do this sooner?

A little one on the way!

For our best friends Matt and Mindy!!! Yes that is MINDY'S positive pregnancy test taken at our house above. Did we fool you? Hey. That ship has sailed for us, people.

After 3 years and 8 months, to be exact, Matt and Mindy have waited for that 2nd line to pop up. We couldn't be happier for them!

So after they unloaded that news on us, we had a nice weekend. We took the girls to Simmons Farm for 'Fall activities'. I say 'Fall activities' because it hardly felt like Fall in the 80 degree weather.

Claudia enjoyed the hayride much more than last year:

Mommy and Claudia going down a big scary slide in which Mommy had to put on a brave face for her 2 year old daughter as to not scare the crap out of her. For some reason we went about 50mph faster than anyone else at the farm.
